Pumpkin Patch 2014

Once again it’s been a long time since my last post.  We’ve had quite an eventful summer including a trip to the zoo, a trip to Disneyland, a visit with my aunts and uncle in CA, TJ’s fun week at day camp and last weekend we went to family camp. If I were a good blogger, I would have had individual posts about each event, but obviously I’m a slacker and haven’t been keeping up on our family events.  I hope you will forgive me and just enjoy pictures from our most recent visit to the local pumpkin patch.  :0)  It is one of my favorite photo ops of the year!

It had been raining, so we donned our rain boots and headed out.DSC_0139

We saw some cool farm equipment. DSC_0145

Got our wheelbarrow and headed out to look for some pumpkins. DSC_0150

We stopped for lots of pictures. 😉 DSC_0151 DSC_0156 DSC_0157 DSC_0161 DSC_0162

TJ picked out a white pumpkin this year.  He wants to carve a ghost into it.  DSC_0164

We stopped to inspect a spider on one of the pumpkins.  DSC_0165 DSC_0166

We got to see a goat and tried to feed him. DSC_0167

DSC_0168But he wasn’t hungry!

DSC_0170TJ found some big pumpkins to sit on.  DSC_0172

We went through the corn maze. DSC_0175 and found all the pieces of the puzzle.

It was Solar System themed and they had LGM’s in the corn maze too. DSC_0178

We used the sling shot to shoot some apples at targets across the field.

DSC_0181 I helped TJ but we didn’t get our apples to fly very far.DSC_0183

Tony helped G and (after Tony fixed the sling shot) they got one apple pretty close to the target.  DSC_0190

The boys rode on a little “train”  (G always picked the red car)  DSC_0191

They climbed in the hay DSC_0192 DSC_0193 DSC_0194

and played in some corn. DSC_0195 DSC_0196 DSC_0197 DSC_0199

They even got to jump in a bouncy house. DSC_0200

We went through the vortex (which was a little trippy) you walk on a platform through a tube that  is spinning, it makes you feel like the platform is tilting to the side and you’re walking sideways. The only thing we didn’t get to do (which we had planned to) was the hay ride.  We haven’t gone on a hay ride since TJ was 8 months old.  Unfortunately the tractor that pulls the cart full of hay was broken when we were there.  But I think the boys had plenty of fun.  🙂
