All because two people fell in love
This post is a little late, but here goes anyway. 🙂 Back in 1998 I met this funny guy at work. He kept needing help with things, so I kept walking over to him to help him. I had no idea at the time that this guy would become my best friend, my husband, and the father of my children.
It took us quite a while to make it to the altar, but 6 years later we made our vows before God and our family and friends.
Early in our marriage we were faced with a challenge we never expected: infertility. But we bravely faced it together, with God and a good Dr, and grew stronger as a couple because of it. After 4 years of frustration, confusion, and disappointment, we were finally blessed with a positive pregnancy test.
And then we were blessed with our beautiful baby boy!
He was so perfect.
He slept for four to 6 hours at a stretch.
He was perfect!
We enjoyed watching reach all the milestones as he grew: walking and talking. He charmed everyone!
Life seemed like it couldn’t get any better. And then we found out we were expecting again.
And life got better! Who would have thought that adding sleepless nights, and poopy diapers would bring two people even closer together?
But as our family grew our love for each other grew.
We still face challenges, like when Gabriel was not quite 3 months old and TJ was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.
Or when we spent a whole day at the Doctors office and the Emergency Room because of how Gabriel reacted to a teaspoon of scrambled eggs.
Despite all of the changes we’ve had to face (or maybe because of them) we can face this anniversary of our marriage with more than just that initial love or infatuation, but with a proud love that grows ever stronger through the grace of God.
So, after nine years of marriage, I’m proud to say that I still love my hubby! J And I look forward to many more happy years together! J Happily ever after is a choice, not a lucky chance. J
