Just another day on the rollercoaster

TJ got to play at our neighborhood park, make a new friend with a teenager who helped him attempt to play basketball (even while up on his shoulders he couldn’t get the ball into the hoop) but he still had fun! J All that hard play seemed to have no effect on his BG levels …

Group activities and meter mishaps

We went to our church picnic today. J TJ had a blast! He played on the toys at the park. He went down the slides. He climbed up the chain wall. He ran across the wobbly bridge. And this was the first year he actually interacted with the other kids. He did all the games …

The Honeymoons over

From super fun overly busy days to lazy days at home with almost nothing getting accomplished, TJ’s sugars have been up and down like crazy. Before our trip to CA he was consistently low, we almost never had a level over 250. Since the trip his sugars have started getting close to 400 at times. …

Waterfront fun

I had a nice visit with an old friend I haven’t seen in years. We spent the day with our kids at the aquarium and on the waterfront. It was kind of difficult talking and keeping the conversation flowing with 3 kids to distract us, but it was lots of fun! TJ has impressed me …

Diabetes fun

Last Thursday started out not so fun. TJ need his sight moved (day 3—again!) He has been fighting the infusion sets lately. Crying about how they hurt. The Highs and Lows of our Vacation

From Day 1 of our trip TJ’s sugars have been out of control! He usually runs low, but he’s been jumping really high lately. We’ve been watching and counting carbs like normal but his sugars are all over the map. It didn’t matter if he was playing hard, swimming for hours or sedentary most of …

Pismo Beach 2012

TJ and Gabriels first ever trip to the beach! And we had no diabetes issues!  🙂 We checked TJ’s sugars before we left the car and detatched his pump (to keep it from getting sandy) I was so surprised. I expected TJ to want nothing to do with the cold beach water and the sand …
